Brave Browser Adds Another Security Layer To Protect Crypto Users

The security of crypto users has been breached a lot of times and now it seems that Brave browser is working to boost it.

Brave is teaming up with PhishFort

It’s been just revealed that crypto-rewarding web browser Brave just teamed up with cybersecurity firm PhishFort to protect crypto users and keep cybercriminals away.

In a Twitter update, the privacy-centric browser explains how integrating PhishFort’s technology could shield users from malicious attacks.

According to the latest reports coming from the online publication the Daily Hodl, in a blog post, PhishFort notes that cyber thieves seek to exploit the emotions of their victims to launch successful attacks.

“They use a combination of urgency, fear of missing out, and fear of being negatively affected (by a hard fork, ICO, token migration, or other actionable items) with the hopes that the targeted person will act quickly and never notice they are interacting with a malicious application.”

The largest and most audacious phishing scheme in Twitter history

It’s been also revealed that back in August, the U.S. Department of Justice charged three people “in relation to the largest and most audacious phishing scheme in Twitter history” that saw the hackers compromise VIP accounts of Twitter and dupe hundreds of users into telling goodbye to their Bitcoin (BTC).

PhishFort also highlighted the fact that scammers are evolving and they are pursuing applications that are getting a lot of traction.

If back in 2017 and 2018, hackers were focused on ICOs and hard forks, this year their attention switched to DeFi applications. The DeFi movement has been gaining popularity these days.
