Bitcoin And Rest Of Digital Currency Market Has A Flat Friday

Cryptocurrency prices dipped slightly today, but basically held position after a morning scare related to Japan’s warnings to large volume exchange Binance.

Bitcoin was at the $8,600 per single coin level at mid-morning, with the rest of the cryptocurrency market also holding service within a percentage point or two of yesterday’s prices.

The highest price seen was $8,772.00 on the Kraken exchange at 7:12 pm yesterday. Kraken saw $81,867,000 of bitcoin change hands.

The lowest price seen was $8,300.80 on Bitfinex’s exchange at 9:00 am today. Bitfinex’s 24 hour volume was $381,319,000.

The average price on the surveyed exchanges, as weighed by volume, was $8,533.71.

Volatility was a bit lower than average, with the BlockTribune Volatility Index coming in at 42.2. A higher number indicates greater price volatility with 50 describing an average day.

These statistics were consolidated from 8 different exchanges. It includes only BTC/USD trades and only on those exchanges that had at least 1% of the total volume of BTC/USD trades during the measurement period.
