Cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology have been expanding in a wide variety of fields. According to a survey carried out by Finder.com, 26 million Americans have purchased cryptocurrencies. The survey was answered by people that uses the site Pureprofile, and over 2,000 adults participated.
Many investors have been wondering how far the cryptocurrency world has gone. It seems that more than 20 million individuals in America have bought cryptocurrencies. Unfortunately, it is not clear if the survey has been randomly taken, divided by groups or if it includes different social statuses.
What we know is that almost 8% of the individuals that answered the interview declared that they purchased cryptocurrencies. Among this 8% we find that men reach almost 11.86% while women 4.27%, meaning that there is an important division between sex.
The most interested individuals were millennials (17%), Gen X followed with 9%, and baby boomers accounted for the least percentage (only 2%).
With this data, we can also see that there is an important majority that did not want to buy cryptocurrencies for some reasons. Most of them believe that “there is no need or they are disinterested.” The least popular reason that people chose was related to an important discussion in the crypto environment “there are too many fees.”
The report reads as follows:
“This information should not be interpreted as an endorsement of cryptocurrency or any specific provider, service or offering. It is not a recommendation to trade. Cryptocurrencies are speculative, complex and involve significant risks – they are highly volatile and sensitive to secondary activity.”
At the same time, Finder.com explains that past performance does not guarantee a similar future activity. Moreover, the company explains that individuals interesting in cryptocurrencies should know the legal status of them and the regulatory requirements to operate with cryptos.
Cryptocurrencies are expanding and this is a trend that can’t be stopped. At the moment, as the markets are down since a very long time, the sentiment is negative. But as soon as the market changes direction, it could reach new highs as many experts predict.
