Denver weather: The 70s are making a comeback with mostly sunny skies – The Denver Post

A return to the 70s is imminent — at least without the disco balls.

The low temperature in Denver Thursday night was 35 degrees, tying the previous record low set more than 120 years ago in 1898, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. That makes Thursday the third consecutive day to tie for a previous record low, the agency posted on Twitter.

But Denver is switching course from the last couple of days and the forecast Friday calls for a high near 70 degrees with mostly sunny skies and a low near 46 degrees. Wind gusts at night could get up to 20 mph, according to the weather service.

The warming trend will likely continue over the weekend.

Saturday won’t be quite the disco inferno you may have expected, but it’s predicted to bring Denverites a high near 78 degrees with wind gusts up to 16 mph. Evening skies are forecast to be clear with a high near 49 degrees, according to the weather service.
