A 34-year-old man allegedly abducted and raped a teenager before claiming he wanted to “spoil her” for her 13th birthday.
The teen victim was found more than 100 miles from her home after she was reportedly snatched from her family on Tuesday.
A private security firm found the suspect and the 13-year-old girl in the city of Richards Bay in South Africa.
The 34-year-old allegedly abducted the girl and took her to a family home in the city of Durban.
He reportedly told security guards he wanted to “spoil” the teen for her birthday.
The man, a dad-of-four himself, claimed the girl’s parents had been verbally abusive to her.
Police have confirmed that an investigation has been launched into charges of kidnapping and rape.
Family members noticed the girl was missing and discovered some her clothes and a bag were taken from their home, Times Live reports.

A relative of the girl spotted her getting into a white Toyota Avanza with a man they identified as well-known neighbour.
Private Security company Reaction Unit SA received a top off and the alleged abductor was tracked down more than 100 miles from the girls home.
A statement from the firm said: “Reaction officers located a home and found them in the company of extended family.
According to the man, he left his home to spend the child's birthday with his family after she complained of verbal abuse by her parents.
“The child had turned 13 and he intended spoiling her on her birthday and to seek employment in the same area during the week.”
The child's mother told TimesLIVE on Thursday that the family was reeling in shock.
She said: “It’s so hard. We just are so busy trying to deal with all of this.”
