1) Who is Jo Stevens?\u00a0<\/h2>\n

Jo Stevens is a 54-year-old MP for Cardiff Central and a shadow secretary of state for digital, culture, media and sport.<\/p>\n

Stevens was born in Swansea, West Glamorgan, Wales and grew up in Mold, Flintshire.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She studied law at Manchester University and completed the Solicitors' Professional Examination at Manchester Polytechnic in 1989.<\/p>\n

Prior to becoming an MP, Stevens was People and Organisation Director of Thompsons Solicitors.<\/p>\n

2) How did Jo Stevens get coronavirus?\u00a0<\/h2>\n

She was said to have been "laid low" with symptoms of coronavirus at the end of December.<\/p>\n

It is unclear how she caught it.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, her team tweeted: "Jo has asked us to let you know that she is being treated in hospital for Covid. Thanks for all your good wishes we will give an update when we can."<\/p>\n

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer replied to the tweet, saying: "Get well soon Jo, a dear friend and colleague."<\/p>\n

First Minister Mark Drakeford said: "All of our thoughts and best wishes are with Jo for a speedy recovery.<\/p>\n

"Thank you to Jo's constituency team for continuing to support Cardiff Central constituents at this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n

3) When did Jo Stevens become Shadow Culture Secretary?\u00a0<\/h2>\n

Jo Stevens was elected as Member of Parliament for Cardiff Central on May 7 2015 with a majority of 4,981, defeating incumbent Liberal Democrat MP Jenny Willott.<\/p>\n

Stevens supported Sir Keir Starmer in the 2020 Labour Party leadership election.<\/p>\n

He then appointed her Shadow Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, shadowing Oliver Dowden.<\/p>\n
