It was ruff day for this pup. <\/p>\n
The NYPD Harbor Unit rescued a dog struggling to stay above water in Jamaica Bay Wednesday morning. <\/p>\n
Officers were patrolling the area when they spotted the dog in the freezing water around 10 a.m., the NYPD said in a tweet.<\/p>\n
The pup was pulled from the water and immediately taken to a local veterinarian to be treated, cops said. <\/p>\n
The dog named Tinkerbell was later reunited with her owner where she was safe and sound. <\/p>\n
“Tinkerbell is in great health & is looking forward to sleeping all day,” the NYPD tweeted. “Thanks to our Harbor members for making this reunion paw-ssible.”<\/p>\n
