Grieving partners who\u2019ve lost loved ones to the coronavirus are buying sex dolls to help ease the pain, the Daily Star can reveal. <\/p>\n
SupplierSilicone Lovers<\/b>witnessed an explosion in demand after the introduction of lockdowns across the world. <\/p>\n
They received some bizarre requests, with certain customers demanding dolls with human skeletons and animal-human hybrids.<\/p>\n
However, others have begun to use their models as an emotional crutch.<\/p>\n
Many of the company\u2019s customers have complained that they can\u2019t \u201cmeet people or date easily\u201d using its online chat service.<\/p>\n
Co-founder Louie Love told the Daily Star: \u201cThere\u2019s been a lot of chatter across the web that people are stuck in their homes and they are lonely and in need of companionship.<\/p>\n

\u201cFortunately, our dolls fulfil that need for many. We've been extremely lucky and we\u2019re very grateful that our business didn\u2019t have to close down during the pandemic.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen our partner's workshops closed in Feb for a few weeks, it was super stressful for everyone and shipping has been and still is quite unpredictable.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are really blessed to have such supportive customers who have stuck with us through thick and thin.\u201d<\/p>\n
Along with offering companionship, dolls have replaced dead relatives.<\/p>\n

Louie continued: \u201cSome even lost partners due to Covid and want a doll to aid with the grieving process, so it's rewarding to be a part of that kind of healing process and know we're genuinely helping people.<\/p>\n
\u201cMany people who wouldn't normally even think of dolls as an option have turned their attention toward dolls.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe've seen a huge increase in interest from couples as well, perhaps they might be stuck at home looking at ways to keep sex interesting during lockdown or exploring safe ways to try threesomes.\u201d<\/p>\n
Last month, another sex doll company revealed their products were replacing human models during the pandemic.<\/p>\n

Sex Doll Genie (SDG), a US and European firm said interest from single males is rising by 51.6% between February and March 2020. <\/p>\n
The sex doll supplier also witnessed another new trend brought about by the introduction of Covid restrictions worldwide.<\/p>\n
SDG has produced more asexualised fashion and photography models \u2013 with a 400% rise in demand since March last year.<\/p>\n
Janet Stevenson, who founded the company along with husband Amit, said: \u201cWe\u2019ve long known that, despite the name, sex dolls are about more than just sex; they\u2019re essentially a human presence and can bring value to a wide range of situations where a human presence is required, yet not practical.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is something we\u2019re seeing more and more of during the pandemic, and we\u2019re excited to see applications of our dolls extend into a variety of other sectors, helping to boost positivity around what we\u2019re truly passionate about.\u201d<\/p>\n
