National figures\u00a0from\u00a0Nikki Haley, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations,\u00a0to more than a dozen\u00a0members of Congress, as well as international allies, including\u00a0Dutch and\u00a0Canadian lawmakers, have echoed the need to hold China accountable for its abhorrent human rights violations\u00a0and ongoing acts of genocide.<\/p>\n USA TODAY Politics: <\/strong>2022 Winter Olympics without the USA? It should not be a platform for an authoritarian regime to showcase itself while persuading the rest of the world to turn a blind eye to the threat it presents.<\/p>\n Canada’s House of Commons and the Dutch Parliament have already stepped forward,\u00a0and I applaud them for doing so. If genocide and the associated actions China has undertaken against millions of its own citizens are not sufficient for the world to universally act, then I don\u2019t know what is.<\/p>\nThe world must respond\u00a0<\/h2>\n
