{"id":117569,"date":"2021-03-19T02:38:11","date_gmt":"2021-03-19T02:38:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/precoinnews.com\/?p=117569"},"modified":"2021-03-19T02:38:11","modified_gmt":"2021-03-19T02:38:11","slug":"football-steward-finds-long-lost-dad-is-legendary-boxing-commentator","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/precoinnews.com\/world-news\/football-steward-finds-long-lost-dad-is-legendary-boxing-commentator\/","title":{"rendered":"Football steward finds long-lost dad is legendary boxing commentator"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Hitchin Town steward, 40, who was adopted as a baby finds he is the sole heir to \u00a3200m fortune after discovering his long-lost father is legendary US boxing commentator &#8216;The Colonel&#8217; Bob Sheridan<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Simon Edwards made discovery after tracking down extended family in Ireland<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>He contacted Sheridan via an agency as the commentator laid his wife to rest<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8216;The Colonel&#8217; said he &#8216;knew he was my boy&#8217; the very first time he spoke to him\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A non-league football steward who was adopted as a baby is the sole heir to a \u00a3200m fortune after discovering his long-last father is legendary boxing commentator Bob Sheridan.<\/p>\n<p>Simon Edwards made the incredible discovery about his birth parents after tracking down extended family in Galway, Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>The 40-year-old contacted Sheridan, who covered the Rumble in the Jungle between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman in 1974, via an agency just as the commentator laid his wife to rest.<\/p>\n<p>He has since established regular contact with his father and is due to fly to Las Vegas to visit his plush \u00a3145m mansion.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Simon has been inundated with messages of support from celebrities including Jennifer Lopez and Angelina Jolie.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2021\/03\/19\/01\/40661452-9378887-image-a-78_1616117829818.jpg\" height=\"634\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Simon Edwards, who was adopted as a child, found out the truth about his birth parents after tracking down extended family in Galway, Ireland<\/p>\n<p>Sheridan, nicknamed The Colonel, told the Sun:\u00a0&#8216;The first time I spoke to him I knew he was my boy.
