In a recent interview, billionaire investor and entrepreneur\u00a0Mark Cuban\u00a0explained why Bitcoin will be replacing gold for many investors.<\/p>\n
Cuban is the majority owner of the professional basketball team Dallas Mavericks, as well as one of the \u201csharks\u201d on the highly popular reality show\u00a0\u201cShark Tank\u201d\u00a0(which is aired on the ABC television network).<\/p>\n
Cuban made his comments during an appearance as a guest on an\u00a0episode\u00a0of the \u201cDelphi Podcast\u201d that was released earlier this month.<\/p>\n
He had this to say about Bitcoin:<\/p>\n
\u201cBitcoin\u2019s great as a platform. It\u2019s accepted now. It\u2019s an alternative asset. It\u2019s going to replace gold in the portfolios of a lot of people and that hopefully will push the price up as long as the whales continue to HODL. But that\u2019s a different type of platform and its utility really only happens when you wrap it, at least as of now.<\/em>\u201c<\/p>\n Cuban says that as Btcoin becomes easier for retail investors to buy, we will \u201csee it chip away at gold\u201d:<\/p>\n \u201c\u2026 it\u2019s still too much of a hassle right now. It\u2019s just easier for people to deal with a stock brokerage.<\/em><\/p>\n
