PRINCE Philip\u2019s funeral will take place on Saturday April 17 but the public have been asked to stay away due to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

The moving event though will be widely covered in the media and The Sun\u2019s got all the details of what\u2019s happening when.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

What is Prince Philip's funeral schedule?<\/h2>\n

The Royal Family is currently in mourning over the death of Prince Philp who died at the age of 99.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Duke of Edinburgh\u00a0will get\u00a0his dying wish of a small \u201cno-fuss\u201d funeral,\u00a0thanks to ongoing\u00a0Covid restrictions.<\/p>\n

The funeral will take place at St George's Chapel, Windsor.<\/p>\n

As the consort\u00a0of the Queen,\u00a0Prince Philip\u00a0is entitled to a\u00a0state funeral.<\/p>\n

But the Duke of Edinburgh will not be given\u00a0one as expressed by himself.<\/p>\n

Instead, he will be given a military funeral, with a private service held at St George\u2019s Chapel in Windsor\u00a0with 30 mourners\u00a0and\u00a0burial in Frogmore Gardens.<\/p>\n

2.40PM \u2013 Procession begins<\/h3>\n

The Dean of Windsor and the Lord Chamberlain will accompany the coffin carried by bearers from The Queen\u2019s Company, 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards from Windsor Castle, to a specially modified Land Rover which the Duke help design.<\/p>\n

2.45PM \u2013 Leave for St George\u2019s Chapel<\/h3>\n

Prince Charles will lead the Royal Family in a solemn procession on foot to the chapel where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married.<\/p>\n

They will walk behind the coffin along with members of Prince Philip\u2019s staff.<\/p>\n

Representatives from the\u00a0Royal Navy,\u00a0the Royal Marines, the Highlanders, 4th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland and the Royal Air Force will line the route.<\/p>\n

During the procession the Curfew Tower Bell will ring and Minute guns will be fired by the King\u2019s Troop Royal Horse Artillery from the east lawn of Windsor Castle.<\/p>\n

2.53PM \u2013 Arrive at the west steps of St George\u2019s Chapel<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s estimated the Land Rover and procession will take eight minutes to arrive.<\/p>\n

A Guard of Honour and band from The Rifles will be at the bottom of the steps.<\/p>\n

The National Anthem will be played as the coffin enters Horseshoe Cloisters.<\/p>\n

A bearing party from the Royal Marines will carry the coffin up the steps where it will pause for the national minute of silence.<\/p>\n

3PM \u2013 A minute\u2019s silence<\/h3>\n

The nation is expected to come to a halt as it observes a minute\u2019s silence to honour the Duke.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, and the Dean of Windsor will receive the coffin at the top of the steps.<\/p>\n

Due to the coronavirus restrictions, only 30 people will be allowed inside the chapel for the funeral service.<\/p>\n

The list of people attending has not been announced but along with members of the Royal Family it\u2019s known the Duke\u2019s private secretary Archie Miller Bakewell will also attend.<\/p>\n

The service will begin when the coffin enters the chapel.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed he will not be attending, giving up his place to allow a family member to attend.<\/p>\n
