The collision was caught CCTV in the resort village of Mykolaivka, Crimea, a Ukrainian territory annexed by Russia.

In the footage, a man calmly rides his bicycle along an empty highway when a blue speeding Mitsubishi Space comes racing into view.

The car then turns sideways as it skids out of control and, raising a cloud of dust, crashing into the man.

The powerful impact sends the 60-year-old cyclist flying into the air before he lands hard on the tarmac along with his wrecked bicycle.

Reports say the Mitsubishi stopped 60 feet further after ramming into a parked Ford.

A boy can be seen watching on in horror as the crash unfolds in front of him.

Nobody was seriously injured or hospitalised following the incident, say local media.
