A\u00a0defiant Gov. Andrew Cuomo\u00a0dug in his heels\u00a0Monday and again\u00a0vowed not to resign\u00a0\u2014 while appearing to take a swipe at state Attorney General\u00a0Letitia James\u2019s probe\u00a0into the sex-harassment claims against him.<\/p>\n
Cuomo, asked about his potential future plans as he battles state and federal probes, told reporters at a press conference, \u201cI did nothing wrong, period, and I am not resigning.”<\/p>\n
The governor, who has previously refused to step down, even appeared to take a swipe at\u00a0James\u2019s investigation into whether he sexually harassed a string of former aides.<\/p>\n
Cuomo also is the subject of state Assembly and US Justice Department investigations into whether his administration lied about the number of New York nursing-home fatalities caused by COVID-19, after he barred the facilities from turning away virus patients.<\/p>\n
While Cuomo had called James \u201cvery competent\u2019\u2019 in March and described the probe process as \u201cdemocracy\u2019\u2019 in action, he took a different tack Monday \u2014 amid reports the AG might make a bid for governor herself. Cuomo has said he will run for a fourth term.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not telling anyone to have faith in anything,\u2019\u2019 Cuomo said when asked about his belief in the investigation process.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet the reviews go on, and then I\u2019ll comment at the appropriate time,\u2019’ he said. <\/p>\n
