{"id":123724,"date":"2021-05-04T18:13:25","date_gmt":"2021-05-04T18:13:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/precoinnews.com\/?p=123724"},"modified":"2021-05-04T18:13:25","modified_gmt":"2021-05-04T18:13:25","slug":"serbian-diner-thanks-those-getting-covid-shots-with-plates-of-roast-meat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/precoinnews.com\/markets\/serbian-diner-thanks-those-getting-covid-shots-with-plates-of-roast-meat\/","title":{"rendered":"Serbian diner thanks those getting COVID shots with plates of roast meat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kragujevac, SERBIA(Reuters) &#8211; Get a COVID-19 vaccine and you will be served a plate of spit-roast ox or wild game goulash for free &#8211; in the Serbian city of Kragujevac.<\/p><figcaption class=\"Slideshow-description-447Md\">Slideshow <span>( 5 images )<\/span><\/figcaption><p>Restaurateur Stavro Raskovic offered the popular local dishes on Tuesday as his way of promoting vaccination and campaigning for the full reopening of the country\u2019s restaurants, cafes and bars which can only serve patrons outdoors.<\/p>\n<p>Lockdowns in 2020 and partial restrictions this year, have driven Biblioteka kod Milutina (Milutin\u2019s Library) restaurant to the brink, said Raskovic, as dozens lined up to get their jab and a plate of charcoal-roasted meat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur trade, catering, has been particularly hit&#8230; and if this (vaccination) is the way out, then we wanted to contribute,\u201d he told Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>Local health authorities turned the main restaurant\u2019s hall into a vaccination point to deliver shots made by Pfizer\/BioNtech, and China\u2019s Sinopharm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday&#8230; we have (vaccines from) both East and West on the menu, to everybody\u2019s taste,\u201d said Raskovic.<\/p>\n<p>Last December, Serbia started a nationwide inoculation campaign, allowing people to choose either the Pfizer\/BioNtech, AstraZeneca\/Oxford, Russian Sputnik V or Sinopharm shot.<\/p>\n<p>Bane Jajic, a 63 years-old man from Kragujevac, praised Raskovic\u2019s idea while enjoying a plate of roast ox and a beer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome day &#8230; someone will say that uncle Bane was vaccinated right here,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Around a third of Serbia\u2019s population of 7 million have received at least one vaccine dose so far.
