It&#8217;s not the first time for me, in this part of Berlin, with a Hebrew microphone and speaking in Hebrew. Last time the same thing happened, also with a firecracker.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>There were numerous reports of anti-Semitic slogans being chanted in German cities amid anger at Israel&#8217;s bombardment of the Gaza Strip which has killed\u00a0212 Palestinians &#8211; including 61 children.<\/p>\n<p>Footage emerged from a protest outside a synagogue in the city of\u00a0Gelsenkirchen which showed men yelling obscenities about Jews while waving Palestinian and Turkish flags.<\/p>\n<p>Israeli flags were also burned outside synagogues in Munster and Bonn, where police made 16 arrests.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A 29-year-old German citizen of Kazakh origin was arrested in Hamburg on Friday after striking a Jewish student over the head outside a synagogue.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Seibert said that the recent spate of anti-Semitism showed that the problem existed across the political spectrum.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;There are anti-Semites in various camps in Germany,&#8217; he said. &#8216;Right-wing extremists and neo-Nazis have always been part of it.
