The first full day of summer officially kicks off Monday in Denver. Weather forecasters, however, say to expect it to feel more like spring.

“It’s typical of Colorado weather to forget seasons like that but we aren’t complaining!” the National Weather Service in Boulder said in a Tweet from its official account.

After a chance for early morning showers across Denver, the clouds are expected to clear gradually, with the high temperature expected to climb to 73 degrees Monday, meteorologists said.

Monday also marks the longest day of sunlight of the year in Denver, with sunrise at 5:32 a.m. and sunset at 8:31 p.m. The days will begin to get shorter as we move past the summer solstice.

The relief from the summer heat won’t last though.

Denver weather forecasters call for temperatures to climb back into the 90s Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
