A WOMAN has been has been charged with murdering a pensioner whose headless body was discovered two weeks after she vanished.<\/p>\n

Mee Kuen Chong, 67, was reported missing from her home in Wembley on June 11.<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

But her body was found 220 miles away in popular holiday resort Salcombe in Devon.<\/p>\n

Her death was initially treated as "unexplained" but cops confirmed this week they had launched a murder probe and made an arrest.<\/p>\n

Jemma Mitchell, 36, has now been charged with murder and is due to appear at Willesden Magistrates' Court today.<\/p>\n

Police previously confirmed Mee was originally from Malaysia but had been living in Wembley for over 30 years.<\/p>\n

They said her family have been informed about the development and are being supported by specially trained officers.<\/p>\n

A post-mortem has taken place but was unable to confirm a cause of death.<\/p>\n

DEATH RIDDLE<\/h2>\n

Detective Chief Inspector Jim Eastwood, who is leading the murder investigation, said: \u201cThe discovery of Mee\u2019s body is a tragic development and my thoughts are with her family and friends.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt this stage, we are working on establishing the full circumstances surrounding Mee\u2019s death and in particular her movements. <\/p>\n

"I would ask anyone who saw her between Thursday, 10 June and Sunday, 27 June either in London or Devon, who has not yet spoken to police, to please come forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is absolutely vital that anyone who may have information about Mee\u2019s movements over this period share what they know to help us fully understand what happened to her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mee – known to loved ones as Deborah – had disappeared from Wembley on June 11 with cops appealing for information four days later.<\/p>\n

But tragically her body was discovered in woodland on June 28 by a member of the public.<\/p>\n

A police source told\u00a0DevonLive\u00a0the body was found without a head.<\/p>\n

The woods where the body was found are popular with dog walkers.<\/p>\n
