Apple co-founder and legendary programmer Steve Wozniak said that Bitcoin is superior to gold and a \u201cmathematical miracle.\u201d<\/p>\n
As Cointelegraph previously reported, per an article in Mexican newspaper El Sol de M\u00e9xico, on July 8, at the Jalisco Talent Land Digital 2021 event, Wozniak talked about Bitcoin during his presentation, calling it \u201cthe only digital gold.\u201d (This is \u201cthe largest connection and interaction event between young talent, specialists, companies and the government for the development of technology, innovation and entrepreneurship projects.\u201d)<\/p>\n
Woz referred to gold as \u201climited\u201d and noted the difficulty of having to search for and extract the precious metal from the ground.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He said:<\/p>\n
Gold is limited and you have to look for it. Bitcoin is the most amazing mathematical miracle. I do not invest in Bitcoin, but I believe it\u2019s here to stay.<\/p>\n
Wozniak\u2019s comments come just days after Mexican billionaire businessman Ricardo Benjam\u00edn Salinas Pliego, who\u00a0is the founder and chairman of\u00a0Mexican\u00a0conglomerate\u00a0Grupo Salinas, said that it was \u201cabsolutely right\u201d to refer to Bitcoin as the new form of gold.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Pliego published a tweet in response to MicroStrategy\u2019s Michael Saylor, noting that Bitcoin was much more portable and convenient than gold.\u00a0<\/p>\n
