"Where is Hunter? His highest and best use, I can tell you, is in a studio to paint, even though he's never painted before," Trump said.

"He set a record for the highest price for a person that never painted before, never did a painting before," Trump claimed at CPAC.

It was announced in June that Biden, 51, is beginning a new career as an artist. He is planning a private showing of his work in the fall, according to Artnet.

Biden's art dealer, Georges Berges, said Biden's pieces could be worth $75,000 to half a million dollars.

Biden told Artnet that his art is a way for him to cope. He has struggled publicly with substance abuse.

“For me, painting is much more about kind of trying to bring forth what is, I think, the universal truth," Biden told Artnet.

“The universal truth is that everything is connected and that there’s something that goes far beyond what is our five senses and that connects us all," he went on.

Addressing whether President Biden was a fan, Hunter said: “My dad loves everything that I do, and so I’ll leave it at that.’’

Hunter expressed how his new hobby has helped battle addiction, telling the New York Times in February 2020 that painting is "literally keeping me sane."

"For years I wouldn't call myself an artist. Now I feel comfortable saying it," he said.
