Nathan Wayne Entrekin, a man who wore a Roman gladiator costume to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot in support of former President Donald Trump\u2019s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, was arrested by federal authorities on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Entrekin, whom online \u201csedition hunters\u201d had dubbed \u201cCaesar No Salad,\u201d wore his costume to portray Captain Moroni, a figure from the Book of Mormon who \u2015 as spelled out in Entrekin\u2019s FBI affidavit \u2015 \u201csought to defend the liberties of his people \u2015 the Nephites \u2015 from another group \u2015 the Amalickiahites \u2015 that wanted to overthrow democracy and install a king.\u201d He was arrested in Cottonwood, Arizona.<\/p>\n
A tipster contacted the FBI about Entrekin on Jan. 11, and the FBI was able to confirm his identity through \u201ca review of public databases and open source intelligence (OSINT)\u201d as well as an interview with Entrekin on Feb. 2.<\/p>\n
The FBI got permission to search Entrekin\u2019s phone. On it, they found videos of him narrating the scene for his mother (whom he lives with) about what he\u2019s seeing at the Capitol.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m here, Mom!\u201d Entrekin says in one video. \u201cThis is my flag!\u201d<\/p>\n
Entrekin, according to the feds, continued narrating the scene for his mother as he stormed the Capitol.<\/p>\n
\u201cAre we going up? This is a good workout. Forward, forward, forward,\u201d he said. \u201cI made it, Mom. I made it to the top. Mom, look, I made it to the top, to the top here. Look at all the patriots here. Haha, if I can make it up that, anybody can.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m here for Trump. Four more years, Donald Trump! Our rightful president!\u201d Entrekin said.<\/p>\n
\u201cHere comes the riot police, Mom,\u201d\u00a0Entrekin said in another video.<\/p>\n
Later on, when he\u2019s inside the Senate Parliamentarian\u2019s office,\u00a0Entrekin appears to realize what he\u2019s done.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cOh shit. Oh, Mom. I don\u2019t think you want to be here, Mom. I mean you do want to be here, but in spirit. Yeah, haha. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. What happened?\u201d he asks. \u201cHoly shit. Oh my gosh, they broke the . . . oh shoot, they looted. Oh shit. I gotta go. We gotta go, we gotta get out of here.\u201d<\/p>\n
Outside, however, he seemed to go back to enjoying the riot, laughing at a guy who stole a whiskey bottle.<\/p>\n
Entrekin then reentered the Capitol and made his way to the Capitol Crypt, where he continued narrating the scene for his mother.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is our house! Wow, Mom. I wish you were here with me. It\u2019s really exciting in here. It\u2019s joyful and it\u2019s sad at the same time. We can\u2019t let Biden … to be our president. We can\u2019t … there\u2019s no way.<\/p>\n
Entrekin faces two misdemeanor charges: One for knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, and another for violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.<\/p>\n
More than six months after the Capitol attack, the FBI has made more than 500 arrests. Hundreds more arrests are in the works.<\/p>\n
