<\/p>\nPIERS Morgan has branded Prince Harry and Meghan Markle "gutless weasels" in his latest blast at the couple.<\/p>\n
The TV firebrand hit out amid claims the pair had considered naming the alleged royal racist who asked about the colour of Archie's skin.<\/p>\n

However, it's reported they finally opted against making the person's identity pubic knowledge.<\/p>\n
And in a tweet, Piers said: "Go on then, you gutless weasels – name the supposed Royal racist and let them respond. <\/p>\n
"Otherwise you continue to smear the whole family."<\/p>\n
Piers is a prolific critic of the couple – and walked away from Good Morning Britain after refusing to apologise to Meghan for accusing her of lying during the Oprah interview.<\/p>\n
It was during the chat that the Duchess claimed a senior royal had questioned the colour of Archie's skin before his birth.<\/p>\n
She also claimed the tot wasn't made a prince after\u00a0"concerns and conversations" were raised\u00a0about his complexion.<\/p>\n
But when asked to name the person responsible for the comments, she refused – as it would be too "damaging".<\/p>\n
Oprah later confirmed it was neither the Queen nor Prince Philip.<\/p>\n
But a\u00a0newly-released chapter\u00a0of Finding Freedom, a biography of the Sussexes, says the couple weighed up "sharing this detail" in the bombshell chat, the\u00a0Daily Mail\u00a0reports.<\/p>\n
It reveals a source told authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand that the couple had thought about naming the person in question but had ultimately decided not to.<\/p>\n
It also claims that Meghan found the interview "cathartic" and "liberating".<\/p>\n
However, the chat left Prince William "furious that private family matters were being discussed in the public domain", it's said.<\/p>\n
Revelations in the chapter include:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n At the time of the allegations, the prince hit back and insisted the\u00a0Royal Family\u00a0was "very much not racist".<\/p>\n The new chapter also\u00a0contains claims that the Royal Family were "quietly pleased"\u00a0that Meghan couldn't make it to Prince Philip's funeral.<\/p>\n The Duchess was unable to attend the service at Windsor Castle in April as she was pregnant with daughter Lilibet Diana at the time.<\/p>\n The book claims some royals were happy as they "didn't want a circus" and feared she would "create a spectacle".<\/p>\n Harry\u00a0attended his grandfather's funeral after making the 5,400-mile journey from his and Meghan's home in California.<\/p>\n \ud83d\udd35 Read our Royal Family live blog for the latest updates<\/strong><\/p>\n Harry and Charles were said to be on only "light speaking terms" in the lead up to the day, but the pair chatted after the service.<\/p>\n Publisher HarperCollins said the latest edition will also share "behind the scenes" details of the Sussexes' Oprah interview, as well as their move to the US.<\/p>\n And it will recount "Meghan's emotional healing journey from losing a child to the birth of their daughter".<\/p>\n Scobie, a journalist favoured by the couple, said of the first edition that the couple "did not authorise the book and have never been interviewed for it".<\/p>\n Harry is now planning his own upcoming tell-all memoir that will give an "accurate and wholly truthful" account of his life.<\/p>\n An expert previously speculated the\u00a0Duke may name the royal who made the remark about Archie's skin colour in his book.<\/p>\n Richard Kay said: "He will surely have to offer an explanation for this most sensational of claims."<\/p>\n\n
