‘No one’s going to be sitting on this sofa anytime soon,’ she adds.

But owner Bethany, from Lancashire, said she couldn’t stay mad at him.

She said: ‘Percy clearly has a thing for interior design.

‘Since we dedicated the living room to his special space, we’ve lost a rug, three cushions and now the sofa.

‘I left him for about two hours to go into work and I came back to all this carnage in the living room.

‘He’d somehow managed to get his nose down the back of the sofa and ripped out all the stuffing.

‘He loves the sofa so maybe he didn’t think it was comfy enough or had the right amount of stuffing for his liking.

‘We’re currently renovating our house so his destruction isn’t too big of a deal.

‘When I discovered what he’d done to the sofa I was laughing.

Percy had chewed a hole into the sofa and removed clumps upon clumps of stuffing

‘I couldn’t stay mad at him because of his cute face.

‘Obviously I’m not happy about my sofa being ruined but I suppose that’s part of having a puppy.’

After taking a video to show her family and friends online, Bethany was flooded with comments saying it wasn’t long before the dalmatian pup lived up to its breed’s naughty tendencies.

Percy’s damage has totalled £2,096 – after he previously ruined three £12 cushions and a £60 rug.

Bethany added: ‘All of my family were in stitches at the video, saying that it wasn’t long before he caused some mischief.

‘I even sent it to his breeder and joked that I’m sending her a bill for the sofa!

‘Before we got him, everyone said we’d regret getting a dalmatian because they’re mad and this has definitely proved that.

‘In the video you can tell that he can’t hide his excitement because his tail was wagging so much. It was hilarious – I had to stifle my laughter so he didn’t notice.

‘He pulls off the cute eyes too and pretends he’s innocent which is amusing.’

Bethany cleaned up the mess twice after the mischievous pooch did the same thing the following morning.

She added: ‘We patched up the sofa and the next morning we found that he had managed to take even more of the stuffing out.

‘Hopefully this is the worst of it and he doesn’t get up to too much mischief in the future when the house is newly decorated.

‘He’s the quirkiest, funniest dog with so many strange habits and he’s definitely lived up to the cheeky dalmatian name.’
