A MAN has been charged with murder after a newlywed woman fell to her death in a "suspicious" cliff plunge<\/strong> from a landmark in Edinburgh.<\/p>\n

Kashif Anwar is charged with the murder of Fawziyah Javed, 31,\u00a0who was declared dead at the scene in Arthur\u2019s Seat\u00a0in Edinburgh after the horror on last Thursday night.<\/p>\n

Police and emergency services were called at about 9pm, but Ms Javed died at the scene.<\/p>\n

Kashif Anwar appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday where he made no plea.<\/p>\n

He has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear in court within the next eight days.<\/p>\n

Ms Javed got married last year – but celebrated at a reception in West Yorkshire on Sunday, before travelling to Scotland.<\/p>\n

Fawziyah's cousin previously issued a heartbreaking plea and said her death had left a "hole in our lives".<\/p>\n

He added: "We want justice."<\/p>\n

Fawziyah worked at Lyons Davidson Solicitors in Leeds and was also involved in charity work.<\/p>\n

A source claimed she was thought to be in the early stages of a pregnancy before her death.<\/p>\n

Police are understood to have been searching a home in Pudsey, West Yorks, in connection with the probe.<\/p>\n

A statement last week said: \u201cWe received a report that a woman had fallen from Arthur's Seat, Edinburgh, around 9pm on Thursday, 2 September.<\/p>\n

"Emergency services attended including the fire service and ambulance.<\/p>\n

"The 31-year-old woman died at the scene a short time later and her death is being treated as suspicious.<\/p>\n

"A 27-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing."<\/p>\n
