NASA have released a new photograph detailing the colourful beauty of the nebula in deep space but many can only see a giant monster in the image.<\/p>\n
The incredible detail of the nebula, which is a huge cloud of dust and gas, is shown in the image but most are reminded of the ionic Japanese monster Godzilla.<\/p>\n
NASA\u2019s Spitzer Space Telescope, which was launched back in 2003, captured the image before it was retired and it was actually an astronomer who spotted monster-like shape.<\/p>\n
The Godzilla-like nebula is located is in the constellation of Sagittarius, which is along the plane of the Milky Way.<\/p>\n

This image was processed by Caltech astronomer Robert Hurt, who is responsible for looking after public images created from Spitzer data.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wasn\u2019t looking for monsters,\u201d said Hurt, who is not the only person at NASA to see something in the stars.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just happened to glance at a region of sky that I\u2019ve browsed many times before, but I\u2019d never zoomed in on. <\/p>\n

"Sometimes if you just crop an area differently, it brings out something that you didn\u2019t see before. It was the eyes and mouth that roared \u2018Godzilla\u2019 to me.\u201d<\/p>\n
Through the Spitzer archives, a number of other scientists have spotted objects in images of space.<\/p>\n
Scientists have spotted a black widow spider, a Jack-o-Lantern, a snake, an exposed human brain, and even the Starship Enterprise.<\/p>\n

The archive is managed by NASA\u2019s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California following the Spitzer spacecraft being retired in January 2020.<\/p>\n
However, scientists continue to trawl through its vast library of images for new information and data, as well as engaging images.<\/p>\n
Hurt said: \u201cIt\u2019s one of the ways that we want people to connect with the incredible work that Spitzer did.<\/p>\n

\u201cI look for compelling areas that can really tell a story. Sometimes it\u2019s a story about how stars and planets form, and sometimes it\u2019s about a giant monster rampaging through Tokyo.\u201d<\/p>\n
NASA\u2019s Jet Propulsion Laboratory is also asking for people to come and draw what they see on a selection of images from the Spitzer archive with a web app.<\/p>\n
