Twitter has become an arena for another cryptocurrency-related battle due to Binance experiencing ongoing issues with Dogecoin (DOGE) withdrawals.<\/p>\n
Tesla CEO Elon Musk, one of the world\u2019s biggest Dogecoin fans, took to Twitter on Tuesday to bring up issues related to DOGE withdrawals on Binance. Tagging Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, Musk wrote: \u201cWhat\u2019s going on with your Doge customers? Sounds shady.\u201d<\/p>\n
Binance\u2019s official Twitter account took about 30 minutes to respond, arguing that there\u2019s nothing shady with the issue and citing a fresh Twitter update regarding the problem. \u201cThe root cause is a technical issue during the recent upgrade process that caused old transactions to be resent to 1,674 users,\u201d Binance said.<\/p>\n
As a result of the issue, some Binance users have received old transactions, while some became unable to withdraw their Dogecoin. \u201cWe\u2019ve kindly asked those that receive the old transactions to return them, but we\u2019re aware that select users are having trouble accessing some of the wallets.<\/p>\n
The firm went on to say that the issue occurred exclusively on Binance as the platform has a \u201cdifferent technical wallet set-up for DOGE.\u201d In order to fix the problem, Binance will have to rebuild the wallet entirely, which could take \u201canother week or so,\u201d the firm noted.<\/p>\n
Apparently not being satisfied with Binance\u2019s response, the Tesla CEO continued attacking the exchange, stating: \u201cDoge holders using Binance should be protected from errors that are not their fault.\u201d Musk also cited a thread by Dogecoin Developers explaining that the issue started a \u201cbit over a year ago.\u201d<\/p>\n
Binance CEO Zhao subsequently joined the thread, stating that the problem is related to the \u201clatest Doge wallet.\u201d \u201cWe are in communications with the devs,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
