Born November 8, 1973, David Muir, 48, is known as an American journalist. <\/p>\n

He is the anchor of ABC World News Tonight and co-anchor of the ABC News magazine 20\/20.<\/p>\n

Muir previously served as the weekend anchor and primary substitute anchor on ABC's World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer, eventually succeeding her on September 1, 2014.<\/p>\n

He previously dished to USA Today about crediting his success to those who have come before him, saying: \u201cI\u2019ll never forget the first day I sat next to Diane Sawyer on the \u2018Good Morning America\u2019 set, and I could not believe that I was filing a report next to Diane.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The journalist got his start in media in 1994 when he landed a job as an anchor and reporter at WTVH-TV in Syracuse, New York.<\/p>\n
