Surveillance video provided by police shows the man exit the elevator momentarily before reentering and pulling the woman out by her cane.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/a57.foxnews.com\/static.foxnews.com\/foxnews.com\/content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/640\/320\/NYC-thief-drags-elderly-.jpg?ve=1&amp;tl=1\"><\/p>\n<p>\n      The NYPD is searching for a purse-snatcher who forcefully robbed an elderly woman by dragging her to the ground by her cane.\u00a0<br \/>\n      <span>(NYPD Crime Stoppers\u00a0)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>He tries to run off with the woman\u2019s bag and her cane, but she does her best to hold on, video shows. The brute continues to yank the woman\u2019s belongings, ultimately dragging her to the ground and running out the door.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Police said the octogenarian was taken to an area hospital for pain to her hip.
