Former striker cooks for 300 at Latitude Festival for caterer that employs ex-offenders<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Ex-England star, 61, helped create his Catalan-themed three-course feast\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Latitude festivalgoers were treated to anchovies, chicken and paired wines<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Match of the Day presenter taught himself to cook from scratch six years ago\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Former England ace Gary Lineker caused quite the stir when he helped finish off 300 Catalan-themed meals as a guest chef for hungry festivalgoers.<\/p>\n<p>The Match of the Day presenter, 61, pulled on an apron to help design a mouthwatering three-course meal for those attending Latitude Festival in Suffolk.<\/p>\n<p>Working alongside the Social Pantry, a caterer that trains and employs ex-offenders, Lineker\u00a0was later pictured with a broad grin and celebrating with both arms raised triumphantly over his head.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for his sold out &#8216;My Catalan Feast&#8217; were available for between \u00a325 and \u00a357, but extras included paired wines from the continent for an additional \u00a340 each.<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by his three years in Barcelona, the BBC football pundit became the festival&#8217;s first ever guest chef as he helped cook up a storm on Thursday evening.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2022\/07\/23\/08\/60602807-11041449-image-a-24_1658560746581.jpg\" height=\"422\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker, 61, pulled on an apron to help design a mouth-watering three-course meal for 300 guests attending Latitude Festival in Suffolk<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2022\/07\/23\/08\/60602805-11041449-image-a-23_1658560740524.jpg\" height=\"951\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The former England ace covers his face with his hands as he looks on at his Catalan-themed creations<\/p>\n<p>Lineker&#8217;s three-course feast began with a serving of fresh anchovies drizzled in lemon olive oil and herbs, served alongside a serrano ham pump sourdough.<\/p>\n<p>He followed with his &#8216;mes que un chicken&#8217;, a twist on FC Barcelona&#8217;s iconic &#8216;more than a club&#8217; motto &#8211; oven-roasted poultry with potato and tomato stew.<\/p>\n<p>Topping off his meal was crema catalana, a rich and creamy take on the French classic cr\u00e8me br\u00fbl\u00e9e.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by the Catalan city&#8217;s rich history of cuisine, Lineker taught himself to cook from scratch six years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Tweeting about his latest venture, Lineker wrote: &#8216; Fabulous night at Latitude Festival cooking for 300 people.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;All went brilliantly, largely thanks to Richard Gynn, Kon Hedwing and the superb Social Pantry team&#8217;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Never one to shy away from controversy, Lineker was last month seen posing for pictures with striking RMT rail workers who formed picket lines in Manchester.<\/p>\n<p>And he was recently crowned\u00a0the BBC&#8217;s top earning on air-talent for the fifth consecutive year after the broadcaster&#8217;s accounts showed he was paid \u00a31.35m in 2021\/22 for his work on Match of the Day and Sports Personality of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-11041449\/Former-England-striker-Gary-Lineker-cooks-Latitude-Festival-caterer-employs-ex-offenders.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read Full Article<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What&#8217;s Gary Lineker stirring up now?
