A man has been murdered at a holiday park popular with young families, reportedly after a row over football, according to police. <\/p>\n

Police rushed to Parkdean Resorts in Camber Sands, Sussex, in the early hours of Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

The Sun reported that witnesses said the man died after he was tackled to the floor and held down when he got into an argument.<\/p>\n

The argument was said to have started over the opening Premier League game, Crystal Palace v Arsenal, which was being shown at the onsite bar on Friday evening. <\/p>\n

Witnesses said he was shouting \u201cI can\u2019t breathe\u201d during the altercation in The Showbar.<\/p>\n

Sussex Police said: \u201cPolice have arrested six people on suspicion of murder following the death of a man at a holiday park in Lydd Road, Camber Sands, in the early hours of Saturday morning (August 6).<\/p>\n

\u201cEmergency services were called at around 10.50pm on Friday (August 5) to reports of an altercation involving a group of people.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite the best efforts of paramedics, a 58-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene shortly after midnight. His next of kin have been informed."<\/p>\n

Parkdean, who run the resort, offered \u00a3100 compensation to anyone who was forced to leave the resort because of what they called a "serious incident."<\/p>\n

The message said: \u201cWe would like to make you aware that last night a serious incident occurred within our complex area.<\/p>\n

"As this is a live police investigation our team is doing everything they can to assist their enquiries.<\/p>\n

"Please be aware they cannot comment on this incident.<\/p>\n

"Our complex area on park will remain closed and will not re-open until investigations are completed.<\/p>\n

"We will update you at lunchtime today in relation to this.<\/p>\n

"If you have activities booked for today our on park team will contact you to advise whether these events can go ahead.<\/p>\n

"Due to restricted facilities on offer today we would like to offer you a \u00a3100 refund as a gesture of goodwill<\/p>\n

"This will be processed to the card that you used to make your booking automatically by our customer team within the next 7 days.\u201d<\/p>\n

Detective Chief Inspector Emma Vickers, of the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, said: \u201cOur investigation is at a very early stage, but I would like to reassure the public that this appears to be an isolated incident with no wider risk of harm.<\/p>\n

\u201cOfficers are now working to establish the full circumstances while the victim\u2019s next of kin are supported by specialist officers.\u201d<\/p>\n
