New York (CNN)<\/cite>The US Department of Labor proposed fines of almost $1.3 million for Dollar General<\/span> (DG<\/span>)<\/span> after federal inspectors found workplace violations at three Georgia stores, the agency announced Monday. <\/p>\n

The DOL said it visited stores earlier this year in Pembroke, Hogansville and Smyrna and saw blocked exit routes, dangerously stacked merchandise boxes and hard to access electrical panels.

The department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration has proposed more than $6.5 million in fines for Dollar General since 2017, saying the inspectors have frequently found “unsafe conditions that put workers at risk.”<\/p>\n
