The act was used to strip the German royal family of their UK titles during the First World War.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/01\/10\/00\/66386749-11617061-image-m-19_1673309876479.jpg\" height=\"427\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Tory MP for the Isle of Wight, Bob Seely said\u00a0Harry should give up his royal titles and &#8216;become Mr Windsor&#8217; if he continues to lash out at the monarchy<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;If he hates the institution so much, why doesn&#8217;t he\u2026 set an example and become Mr Windsor,&#8217; he told BBC Radio 4&#8217;s Westminster Hour.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;To trade on titles while at the same time trashing the Royal Family, the whole thing is sad and desperate.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Mr Seely said his planned amendment would hand the Privy Council \u2013 made up of 741 senior parliamentarians \u2013 the power to strip the Sussexes of their titles. When asked about giving them up on US TV network CBS, Harry said: &#8216;What difference would that make?&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/01\/10\/00\/66386847-11617061-image-a-36_1673310155187.jpg\" height=\"430\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Bob Seely\u00a0is now pressing ahead with an attempt to pass legislation to allow the Sussex&#8217;s royal status to be downgraded<\/p>\n<p>Last month Mr Seely said Harry\u2019s criticism of the Royal Family was equivalent to &#8216;trashing&#8217; the UK constitution, and that he should \u2018voluntarily relinquish his titles&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>If the Duke refuses, Parliament should have the power to remove them, he added.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Seely added: &#8216;There is a political issue.
