{"id":169664,"date":"2023-01-16T22:47:46","date_gmt":"2023-01-16T22:47:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/precoinnews.com\/?p=169664"},"modified":"2023-01-16T22:47:46","modified_gmt":"2023-01-16T22:47:46","slug":"hyundai-unveils-car-that-can-drive-sideways-like-crab-with-four-wheel-steering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/precoinnews.com\/world-news\/hyundai-unveils-car-that-can-drive-sideways-like-crab-with-four-wheel-steering\/","title":{"rendered":"Hyundai unveils car that can drive &#8216;sideways like crab&#8217; with four-wheel steering"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hyundai has announced a new car with a steering system that will allow it to drive sideways like a crab.<\/p>\n<p>The new e-Corner steering system means each wheel can turn up to 90 degrees independently of each other.<\/p>\n<p>This is due to the electric motors in the wheel hub containing a steering and suspension system.<\/p>\n<p><b> READ MORE: Self-driving cars could lead to twice as much traffic on the roads, UK government says <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Although the new system is currently in development, motorists could get their hands on the vehicle as early as 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The unique four-wheel steering offers modes including Crab Driving, Zero Turning, Diagonal Driving and Pivot Turning.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article28971254.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/1_Screenshot-2023-01-16-181341.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Crab Driving will turn the rear wheels to mimic the angle of the front wheels so that they can move diagonally.<\/p>\n<p>The experts say this will offer greater performances during off-roading and while parking.<\/p>\n<p>Hyundai\u2019s e-Corner system mirrors GMC\u2019s Hummer EV\u2019s \u2018Crab Walk\u2019 feature.
