The Twitter account of legendary Green Bay Packers football player Aaron Rodgers was recently hacked by crypto scammers.<\/p>\n
Fans of the sportsman noticed his account was sending various crypto-related posts and messages to Elon Musk, the man who now runs the social media conglomerate. These messages contained various cryptocurrency ads and promotions and given what a center for crypto fraud Twitter has been in recent years, there were many individuals who couldn\u2019t help but feel like something was going on.<\/p>\n
Within a relatively short period, the tweets were taken down and disappeared. The hack is alleged to have occurred not long after Rodgers and his team were removed from playoff contention. A few weeks ago, Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers went against the Detroit Lions, a battle they needed to win if they were to be considered for a place in the playoffs.<\/p>\n
Sadly, the victory was not to be after Rodgers threw a late interception, causing the win to go to the Lions. They took home the trophy following a score of 20 to 16. This will be the fourth time Rodgers will not take part in the playoffs since he joined Green Bay in the year 2008.<\/p>\n
Not long after the loss, Rodgers hinted at potential retirement. On the Packers\u2019 website, Rodgers offered a relatively cryptic message to his fans:<\/p>\n

Is it time for another voice to be leading this team? I think I need to get away and contemplate those things. Those are real to me. I have a lot of pride in what I’ve accomplished in this league, but I’m also a realist and I understand where we’re at as a team. We’re a young team. There could be some changes with some of the older guys, and it could be time to step away, but I could take some time and say, \u2018Hell no, man. I need to get back out there and go on another run,\u2019 but I’ll have to see what it feels like once I’m away from it.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Not the First Time Something Like This Occurred<\/h2>\n
This isn\u2019t the first time the Twitter account of a celebrity has been hacked in the name of crypto. Users likely remember the summer of 2020 when several accounts \u2013 including those of Elon Musk, former president Barack Obama, and Microsoft executive Bill Gates \u2013 were compromised and used to garner more than $100K in bitcoin units.<\/p>\n
The hacker had promised several followers of these and other individuals that their money would be doubled if they sent in BTC donations.<\/p>\n
