TWO teenagers are seriously injured following a suspected gas explosion at a house in South Wales.<\/p>\n
A woman, 18, and a 19-year-old man were rushed to hospital with burns after the blast in Dowlais, Merthyr Tydfil, last night.<\/p>\n
\n<\/p>\n
Three others were also taken to A&E, WalesOnline reports. <\/p>\n
All five were in the property at the time, the Health and Safety Executive said. <\/p>\n
The cause of the explosion is not yet known. <\/p>\n
Emergency services raced to Glanmor Gardens at around 10.30pm on February 1. <\/p>\n

Neighbours were evacuated from their homes and the area cordoned off while investigation work continues.<\/p>\n
The incident was brought under control by 11.46pm, according to South Wales Fire and Rescue Service. <\/p>\n
Natasha, who lives nearby, described hearing yells for help at about 10.20pm. <\/p>\n
The mum-of-three, 33, said: "I came to the doorstep and that\u2019s when I could hear a man screaming, 'Call 999'. <\/p>\n
<\/picture>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/picture>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/picture>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/picture>\n <\/span><\/p>\n "I walked to the end of the drive and I could just see the family outside in their pyjamas, just screaming and completely distressed. <\/p>\n "All the neighbours started coming out then and we ran up and they said there had been an explosion."<\/p>\n An HSE spokesperson said: "HSE has been made aware of a suspected gas explosion in a family home in Merthyr Tydfil.<\/p>\n "There were five people in the house at the time and they were all taken to hospital.<\/p>\n "Two people remain in hospital with burn injuries. These are not believed to be life threatening. <\/p>\n "HSE is investigating the cause of the explosion."<\/p>\n Local policing inspector Jon Duckham from South Wales Police said: "A number of properties on Glanmor Gardens were evacuated due to damage caused. <\/p>\n "Two people, a 19-year-old man and a 18-year-old woman, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n "Our thoughts are with those affected by this incident. <\/p>\n "I would like to thank the community of Dowlais for their patience, support, and understanding to those affected and our staff at the scene."<\/p>\nCops seal off bench and divers scour river in search for missing mum<\/h2>\n<\/section>\n
