Pictured: Sansbury&#8217;s green pickup truck at the bottom of the ravine<\/p>\n<p>A rope system was set up to get Sansbury up the steep hillside after he was removed the beat up truck.<\/p>\n<p>He was then taken by ambulance to a nearby school where a\u00a0Lifeflight helicopter picked him up and took him to\u00a0Peace Health Southwest, where he remains in critical condition.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I still can\u2019t believe he survived for six days like that,&#8217; his friend of 30 years Terri Peck told the local CBS affiliate KOIN 6 News.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Terri claimed that she knew he was in a ravine when she heard he was missing and had been checking ravines when her friend was found.<\/p>\n<p>Cowlitz 2 Fire &amp; Rescue Battalion Chief Joe Tone told the local outlet authorities had been looking into any possible foul play before\u00a0Sansbury was found alive.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;They had no idea where the gentleman was at, and we were going down that typical missing persons-type path until the citizen \u2013 local \u2013 found the car,&#8217; said\u00a0Cowlitz 2 Fire &amp; Rescue Battalion Chief Joe Tone.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/05\/22\/19\/71281169-12111875-image-a-8_1684778465838.jpg\" height=\"356\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>His friend of 30 years Terri Peck said she couldn&#8217;t believe\u00a0Sansbury survived for days in the wilderness<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/05\/22\/19\/71281755-12111875-image-a-2_1684780636666.jpg\" height=\"476\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The fire department said the entire rescue took about an hour<\/p>\n<p>Troy Brightbill, a Chief Criminal Deputy with the Cowlitz County Sheriff&#8217;s office, told DailyMail.com no foul play is suspected and it appears to be a vehicular accident.<\/p>\n<p>Sansbury was responsive and was able to answer a few questions when first responders reached him inside his car, officer Brightbill said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He had reportedly made a call to a family member days before being found and said he was stuck in a backyard.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, he was not able to communicate what had happened on the phone before hanging up.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The fire department said the entire rescue took about an hour, and the Longview Fire Department was called in to assist.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lt.
