{"id":175857,"date":"2023-05-23T17:14:04","date_gmt":"2023-05-23T17:14:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/precoinnews.com\/?p=175857"},"modified":"2023-05-23T17:14:04","modified_gmt":"2023-05-23T17:14:04","slug":"disabled-mother-accuses-builders-of-filling-her-garden-with-mould","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/precoinnews.com\/world-news\/disabled-mother-accuses-builders-of-filling-her-garden-with-mould\/","title":{"rendered":"Disabled mother accuses builders of filling her garden with mould"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Disabled mother-of-two accuses builders of turning her garden into &#8216;stinking toxic swamp&#8217; of black mud and mould which has left her two dogs violently ill<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u00a0Jane Bamford, 58, claims she has had to pay \u00a3124 in vet fees due to the mould<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A disabled mother-of-two has accused her builders\u00a0 of turning her garden into a &#8216;stinking toxic swamp&#8217; which she now fears is slowly killing her two pet dogs with black mud and mould.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jane Bamford, 58, says her housing providers are doing nothing to help since her back garden lawn was left a boggy marsh oozing the putrid bile.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She believes the three inch deep petrol-like sludge which has taken over the rear of her home could be blue-green algae, which can be lethal to both dogs and humans.<\/p>\n<p>The health support worker says since the problem arose both her pet pooches have fallen violently ill and she&#8217;s had to fork out \u00a3124 in vet bills so far.<\/p>\n<p>The mother-of-two has complained to property providers Platform Housing, which manages her property, but was told it was the responsibility of the building company.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/05\/23\/15\/71316445-12115597-image-m-53_1684853453972.jpg\" height=\"756\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Jane Bamford, 58, from Worcester, is worried for her dogs Wilf and Gladys<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/05\/23\/15\/71316449-12115597-image-a-54_1684853462187.jpg\" height=\"634\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Mrs Bamford has been forced to cordon of sections of her garden to stop her dogs getting ill again\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jane says her garden in Worcester would regularly build up with water but it&#8217;s only since last October that she has been plagued by the mystery oily substance.<\/p>\n<p>Her main concern is the health of her dogs &#8211; five-year-old German Shepherd, Wilf, and 13-year-old Gladys, a Cairn Terrier crossed with a Jack Russell.<\/p>\n<p>Jane claims that the smaller dog, Gladys has lost the fur on her legs which she thinks is due to the rancid quagmire festering in her waterlogged garden.<\/p>\n<p>She said: &#8216;I don&#8217;t call it my garden. I call it &#8216;the swamp&#8217;. I&#8217;m waiting for an alligator to come out of it. It has been nothing but trouble since we moved in.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I&#8217;m worried about the dogs. Someone mentioned it could be blue algae. It kills dogs, and if they&#8217;re exposed to it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;When my garden is flooded the garden is underwater. It looks like oil, the surveyor said it was some form of moss.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It looks like petrol or when your car leaks and leaves a stain on the pavement. Gladys has lost his fur on his legs because of it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The dogs are getting quite ill. The little one is really low to the ground and has an upset stomach.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;They&#8217;ve both been really violently sick. The vet has said keep them off the grass because we don&#8217;t really know what it is.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/05\/23\/15\/71316453-12115597-image-a-58_1684853496746.jpg\" height=\"1127\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Mrs Bamford believes the three inch deep petrol-like sludge which has taken over the rear of her home could be blue-green algae<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/05\/23\/15\/71316471-12115597-image-a-59_1684853502560.jpg\" height=\"1127\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The disabled woman&#8217;s garden has now turned into an algae ridden quagmire\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Animal-lover Jane said the murky substance first appeared after she put down some grass seed in her garden after a buildup of water ruined it.<\/p>\n<p>She claims her garden was left &#8216;like a swimming pool&#8217; and that she even fell while tending her plants because the area was so wet.<\/p>\n<p>Jane, who has lived at the property since last March, added: &#8216;I was told it&#8217;s the tenants responsibility, so I threw a box of grass seed on it to get it growing again.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Then this black stuff started appearing, it was gloopy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;When it rains it just doesn&#8217;t go anywhere because it&#8217;s clay underneath it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;This is all the builders fault, all of it. They told me they put a layer of soil down before they built, but I know it&#8217;s clay soil.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I fell in the garden in November because it was that slippery and wet. I&#8217;ve been off work a long time because of it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It&#8217;s a cloggy black substance with a chemical sheen to it. It&#8217;s this black mud. I thought I had struck oil at first. But that black stuff is mould, not soil.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I&#8217;m worried the dogs will die from exposure to the water. I&#8217;m devastated.
