You are my boy. Nothing can make me stop loving you, nothing will or could ever divide us,&#8217;\u00a0Roberta wrote in the letter.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;No matter what we do, or where we go or what we say- we will always Love each other.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;If you\u2019re in jail I will bake a cake with a file in it. If you need to dispose of a body I will bring show up with a shovel and garbage bags.&#8217; The word &#8216;bring&#8217; was crossed out in the sentence.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She added: &#8216;If you fly to the moon, I will be watching the skies for your re-entry. If you say you hate my guts, I\u2019ll get new guts.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Remember that love is a verb not a noun. It&#8217;s not a thing, its not words it is actions. Watch people&#8217;s actions to know if they love you not their words.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Therefore I am certain that neither death nor Life, nor angels nor the ruling spirits, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers from above, nor powers from below, nothing in the entire created world can separate our love.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Neither hostile powers nor messengers of heaven nor monarchs of earth. Nothing has the power to separate us&#8230;&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Roberta also wrote: &#8216;Romans 8:38 (extended version!) (Nothing can separate us: &#8220;not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not threats, not even sin, not the thinkable or unthinkable can get between us.) Not time. Not miles and miles and miles.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The letter was recently made public following a hearing in the civil suit brought by the Petitos against the Laundries.<\/p>\n<p>But Roberta claimed the letter was written before her son&#8217;s trip with\u00a0Petito and her attorney released a statement to say it was &#8216;in no way related to Gabby&#8217;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The letter to Brian was written prior to Gabby and Brian leaving my home for their trip. Previously, I submitted an affidavit to the court for very limited purposes but that is not the whole story,&#8217; she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/05\/26\/23\/71464085-12129717-She_instructed_Brian_to_burn_the_letter_after_reading_it_on_the_-a-34_1685140187789.jpg\" height=\"489\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>She instructed Brian to burn the letter after reading it on the envelope\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/05\/26\/23\/71464091-12129717-Roberta_claimed_the_letter_was_written_before_her_son_s_trip_wit-a-33_1685140187788.jpg\" height=\"472\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Roberta claimed the letter was written before her son&#8217;s trip with Petito and her attorney released a statement to say it was &#8216;in no way related to Gabby&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/05\/26\/23\/71386137-12129717-Roberta_said_in_March_that_she_wrote_to_her_son_using_quirky_ref-a-35_1685140187825.jpg\" height=\"449\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Roberta said in March that she wrote to her son using &#8216;quirky&#8217; references from books they loved in an attempt to repair their &#8216;strained&#8217; relationship\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Now that the letter has been shared, I ask that you read it in its entirety, and understand that the letter contains other phrases besides those highlighted by Pat Reilly (the Petitos&#8217; attorney) for sensationalism and to bolster his case.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I truly loved my son, and simply wanted to convey to him how much he meant to me and how much I loved him. I am sure people use phrases all the time to express to their loved ones the depths of their love.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Although I chose words that I thought would be impactful with Brian given our relationship, the letter was in no way related to Gabby.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Petito was killed by her fianc\u00e9\u00a0Brian in Wyoming while they were on a road trip\u00a0in the summer of 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators determined she died by manual strangulation and had been dead for three to four weeks and her death was ruled a homicide.<\/p>\n<p>Brian killed Gabby after she injured herself on their trip and believed she wanted to die, according to his notebook which was obtained by authorities.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He later killed himself out of guilt and his\u00a0skeletal remains were found in October 2021 in a Florida park following a massive manhunt when he disappeared as police investigated Petito&#8217;s death.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on a nature reserve near his parents&#8217; house. His notebook was found along with Roberta Laundrie&#8217;s suspicious letter.<\/p>\n<p>Roberta said in March that she wrote to her son using &#8216;quirky&#8217; references from books they loved in an attempt to repair their &#8216;strained&#8217; relationship.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She claimed it had nothing to do with Gabby&#8217;s murder and said she\u00a0wrote the letter months before Brian and Gabby set off on their cross-country road trip.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Although I do not know the exact date I wrote the letter, I do know that I wrote it and gave it to Brian before Brian and Gabby left Florida for New York, which was on June 2, 2021,&#8217; Roberta said.<\/p>\n<p>In her statement to the court, Roberta admitted her letter did contain references that some would think were about her son and Gabby, but she maintained there is &#8216;no connection&#8217; between her letter and the deaths.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;While I used words that seem to have a connection with Brian&#8217;s actions and his taking of Gabby&#8217;s life, I never would have fathomed the events that unfolded months later between Brian and Gabby would reflect the words in my letter.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/05\/26\/23\/71386105-12129717-Laundrie_took_his_own_life_after_gu_and_his_skeletal_remains_wer-a-37_1685140188061.jpg\" height=\"704\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Laundrie later killed himself out of guilt and his skeletal remains were found in October 2021 in a Florida park\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/05\/26\/23\/71386153-12129717-Roberta_and_her_husband_Chris_Laundrie_in_the_Myakkahatchee_Cree-a-36_1685140188049.jpg\" height=\"564\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Roberta and her husband Chris Laundrie in the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park on the morning authorities found their son&#8217;s skeletal remains<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The words in the letter could never have been a comment on that tragic situation as they were written so many months before.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The Laundrie&#8217;s attorneys previously filed a motion to block Gabby&#8217;s parents, Joe Petito and Nichole Schmidt, from making the letter admissible as evidence in court.<\/p>\n<p>The civil trial between the two families is set to begin in August.<\/p>\n<p>The suit alleges that Laundrie, his parents and their attorney knew Petit to be dead at the time of a September 14, 2021, statement released to media by Steve Bertlino &#8211; the family&#8217;s lawyer.<\/p>\n<p>In part, the statement read: &#8216;On behalf of the Laundrie family it is our hope that the search for Miss Petito is successful and that Miss Petito is re-united with her family.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>It comes after Petito&#8217;s parents filed a civil suit against Laundries&#8217;
