Nigel Farage can lead Reform UK to a stunning general election win if he is placed in charge.

That’s the sensational view of former Conservative Party minister Ann Widdecombe, who believes the 59-year-old’s popularity has already seen an increased interest in the political party.

It is unclear what Mr Farage will do after his stint on ITV reality show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! ended, but the ex-MEP has been touted as a potential candidate in the next General Election.

And he would likely represent the Reform UK party on the ballot paper as he remains its honorary president.

For Ms Widdecombe, who joined up with Mr Farage in Reform UK’s previous incarnation as the Brexit Party, with the politician at the helm the party could make it to Parliament.

Speaking to GB News, Ms Widdecombe said: “Well, it can be done, if you just look at our place in the polls. At the beginning of the year, we only had a few percent.

“Now we’re regularly getting double figures, one poll even had as high as 12 percent.

“Obviously people are turning to us, because they don’t like what the two major parties are offering and Nigel is charismatic and people follow him, as was proven with those Brexit European elections.”

The former Home Secretary said supporters “will follow him as long as Reform continues to do what Reform’s set out to do, which is to talk common sense”.

She also noted on Patrick Christys Tonight show that currently there was “no common sense coming out of the Tories at the moment… and there’s none from Labour”.

The politician concluded: “People may decide this is the moment.

“As I’ve said to everybody, if you want more of the same, vote for more of the same. If you want real change, real common sense, vote Reform.”
