The out-of-control Chinese space rocket hurting towards an unknown place on Earth has finally crash landed.

The CZ5B rocket, which launched on October 31 and the booster of which was rumoured to be landing somewhere in a populated area near Spain, has actually ended up in the South Pacific Ocean – nowhere near to any living humans.

A spokesman for the United States Space Command tweeted: "#USSPACECOM can confirm the People’s Republic of China Long March 5B #CZ5B rocket re-entered the atmosphere over the south-central Pacific Ocean at 4:01am MDT/10:01 UTC on 11/4."

In a somewhat sarcastic move, the USSC then told people to speak to the People's Republic of China for exact details of where it landed – something which China has refused to comment on for days.

The rocket had been plaguing Earth for days, with many experts claiming it had an 88% chance of hitting a population centre.

Upon hearing about it landing in the ocean, many on social media expressed their worry for marine life in the area.

However, one user replied: "t was almost certainly entirely empty, so nothing to explode per se, though their was no doubt some booms high up in the atmosphere.

"Space debris luckily makes for excellent artificial reefs though!"

Despite many experts claiming it was out-of-control and could hit population centres, the USSC actually predicted its exact landing location 24 hours prior – all it got wrong was the orbit cycle, as it happened one full cycle earlier than they had thought it would do.

China has a habit of being unable to control its rocket debris, as almost every single rocket the country has launched into space has had its booster crash land somewhere on Earth.

The country's officials have yet to respond to the latest incident – despite the uproar from the space and scientific community in recent days.
