Students stabbed at California high school: Suspect on the run

Multiple students are stabbed at Van Nuys High School in California: Suspect on the run as campus is placed on lockdown

  • At least three teenagers were hurt in the attack at Van Nuys High School in LA
  • A suspect remains on the run and the high school is on lockdown 
  • A 16-year-old student is in critical condition following the attack 

At least two students have been stabbed at Van Nuys High School in Los Angeles after a fight broke out, according to officials.

A suspect is on the run and the school remains on lockdown.

Police responded to the stabbing attack at about 11am on Wednesday.

A 16-year old boy is in critical condition after being stabbed. A 15-year-old was also stabbed and taken to the hospital.

A third student, another 16-year-old boy, was not stabbed but evaluated at the scene.

Images from the scene showed one student being taken out in a stretcher. 

Police are yet to release a description of the suspect.  

LAPD has asked that anyone with information on the stabbing contact police. 

The Los Angeles Unified school district said the high school will remain on lockdown until police give the all-clear. 

‘Students are safe, and LASPD will stay on scene and continue to provide safety and support to students and employees. Parents of students have been notified,’ the LAUSD said in a statement.
