Two hotel guests caught on CCTV stripping room of everything they could carry

A pair of guests were caught on CCTV laughing after allegedly stripping their hotel room of everything they could get their hands on.

The hotel owner claims that the pair showed up to check in for their booking without any luggage.

After they went back to their cars and headed up to their rooms carrying what appeared to be empty suitcases.

They are said to have used these empty holdalls to make off with hundreds of pounds of goods within the room.

Amongst the alleged stolen items were the room kettle, the tea caddy, lamps, the room fan, bath towels and hand towels, the TV controller, and even a power extension cable with UBS ports.

The looted goods were estimated to be worth £200.

Hotel landlady Natalie Newton said: “The only thing they didn't take were the shampoo and soaps from the bathroom.

“I can't believe how cheeky they were – the man appears to be smiling into our CCTV camera on the stairs.

“They were super-friendly when they checked in but I thought it was a bit strange because apart from the women's handbag they had no luggage.

“I just feel they are horrible individuals who rip the mickey out of hardworking people like me and my staff.”

The 43-year-old posted screenshots from the CCTV system at the Dolphin Hotel in Pembroke Dock, West Wales on social media in a bid to identify the thieving pair.

She explained the pair had booked their room through Booking.com but their card was declined before arrival.

However, the woman gave a different card when they checked in at the front desk on Saturday, August 19 at approximately 8.45 pm.

Natalie was left unable to rent out the decimated hotel room and had to wait until Monday before she could replace the items.

She thinks the room strippers might be from locals – claiming that they had Welsh accents and may be from the Valleys 50 miles away.

She has given the CCTV to the police along with full descriptions of the “scruffy” couple.

Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed they are investigating after a report of theft from the hotel.
