Human remains have been found in the search for YouTube vlogger Gabby Petito's off-the-grid fiancé Brian Laundrie.
Authorities dug deep into the wilderness where the search for Laundrie has focused in recent days, MSNBC reported.
On Wednesday morning the Sarasota County Medical Examiner's Office was called out to the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park.
The search for Laundrie was underway at the time, a spokesperson for the office told Reuters earlier.
According to 10 Tampa Bay News, Laundrie family attorney Steven Bertolino was asked if Laundrie's remains had been found.
He replied "No comment".
The FBI also released an official statement via Twitter.
They wrote: "Items of interest were located at the Carlton Reserve this morning in connection with the search for Brian Laundrie.
"An FBI Evidence Response team is processing the scene.
"The reserve is closed to the public and no further details are available at this time."
The human remains found at the site were reportedly near the backpack with Laundrie's suspected items.
