Police have charged a man with intentionally causing serious injury over an alleged hit-run crash that injured a worker at a COVID-19 testing site in Collingwood.
The driver, 32, of no fixed address, was also charged with theft of a motor vehicle, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, driving in a dangerous manner, failing to render assistance after an accident, possessing a drug of dependence and other drug-related offences.

He allegedly hit the testing site worker at the corner of Easey Street and Hoddle Street about 9.25am on Tuesday. Police arrested him a short time later in Leicester St, Carlton.
“It is alleged a man driving a stolen car was driving erratically before hitting a pedestrian who was monitoring the line at the site, before driving away from the scene,” Acting Sergeant Melissa Seach said in a statement.
A nurse at the clinic provided first aid to the victim, a man aged in his 50s, as he waited for an ambulance. He was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to his upper and lower body.
Cohealth chief executive Nicole Bartholomeusz said on Tuesday the facility would remain closed until Thursday, with clients and neighbours offered counselling.
The accused driver has been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrate’s Court on December 15.
