The oldest Death Row killer to be executed in US history had a "basic" last meal before receiving the lethal injection.
Bigler Stouffer, 79, passed up the opportunity of ordering himself a lavish final meal on Wednesday, the night before his execution.
Instead, he was given a standard serving of one chicken burger, two slices of bread, chips, broccoli, mixed fruit, two biscuits, a fruit drink and one bottle of water, reports The Mirror.
Stouffer was put to death by lethal injection despite pleas for his clemency over concerns regarding Oklahoma’s last two botched executions.
The murderer was convicted for the 1985 murder of Linda Reabes and attempted murder of her boyfriend Doug Ivens.
He was given a lethal injection around 10am at the State Penitentiary in McAlester and was pronounced dead 16 minutes later.
According to witnesses Stouffer was seen laughing and joking with his spiritual adviser before uttering his final words.
He said: “My request is that my Father forgive them. Thank you.”
Stouffer was the first person killed by Oklahoma since John Grant convulsed on the gurney and vomited during his lethal injection in October, as the state ended a six years of no executions brought on by concerns over its protocols.

The pensioner had maintained his innocence over the 1985 attack that left Linda dead and Doug seriously injured.
Stouffer was convicted and sentenced to death in 2003 after his first conviction and death sentence were overturned.
At a parole board hearing last month, he said Doug was shot as the two men fought over a gun at the latter's home, and that Linda was dead when he arrived.

“I am totally innocent of the murder of Linda Reaves and my heart goes out to the family of Linda Reaves that have suffered as a result of her murder,” Stouffer told the board during a video appearance from prison.
Despite being shot three times with a .38-caliber pistol, including once in the face, Doug survived and testified against Stouffer.
