The case of the so-called 'Speedboat killer' and his desperate run from the law is one that gripped the nation for years.
Jack Shepherd, 32, from Exeter, Devon, was discovered living in Georgia in 2019 – nearly four years after his involvement in a dramatic story of a Tinder date turned deadly.
He had taken Charlotte Brown, 24, for a ride in a speedboat on the River Thames in December 2015 after the pair went for a meal at The Shard.
But that night took an awful turn when the boat, which was later found to be defective, hit a submerged tree and threw them both into the freezing water only moments after he had handed her the controls.
Shepherd was rescued from the water, but his date Ms Brown was found unconscious and unresponsive and died soon afterwards.
Not long after, the former software developer then made a bid to escape the events of that night and the British justice system.
He began building a new life in the Georgian capital Tbilisi, a city on the crossroads between Europe and Asia that was once an important outpost of the Soviet Union.
And for a number of months, it seemed his Eurasian ploy had worked.
He was pretending to jog in a city park when he met TV presenter Maiko Tchanturidze, marking the beginning of a 19-month romance.
She lived with the killer for four months before he eventually confessed to his dark secret.
Back at home, he had already been found guilty of manslaughter by gross negligence in his absence in July 2018.
But he only revealed his past as the cops closed in on him when his far-off location became public knowledge at the start of 2019, leading him to turn himself in.
Speaking after his extradition from Georgia back to the UK, she told the media that she still wanted to marry Shepherd, despite the fact he was still technically still a married man himself, and promised to "wait" for him.

However, the MailOnline found that she had an active Tinder profile with her profile saying that she was "looking for love" in January 2020, suggesting that she ran out of patience towards the start of his six-year sentence.
In a new documentary airing tonight (13 December) and tomorrow on ITV2, it is revealed that Shepherd now "misses" the country where he nearly succeeded at reinventing himself.
Speaking to the programme-makers, his lawyer Mariam Kublashvili says in an interview: "He wrote me a letter through the documentary filmmaking studio. He asked me whether I could take part in a documentary they were making about him.
"He said he misses Georgia misses us all, the country, its mountains and delicious food. It’s no wonder – Georgia was always kinder to him than Britain."
Shepherd was also given a four-year sentence in 2019 after he struck David Beech with a vodka bottle in March 2018 when he was asked to leave The White Hart Hotel in Newton Abbot, Devon.
However, his jail time was cut by three months after winning at the appeals court. Judges decided that the 78 days he spent in custody while awaiting extradition to the UK from Georgia must count as time served.
