The Sun's chief reporter picks up top industry gong for string of stunning scoops

THE SUN’s chief reporter yesterday picked up a top industry gong for a string of stunning scoops.

Tom Wells won News Reporter of the Year at the Society of Editors Press Awards.

His exclusives include Jeremy Corbyn’s rulebreaking dinner party and US prosecutors asking to question Prince Andrew over the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

The Sun also won the Special Supplement of the Year for “The Ripper – A Life of Evil”.

Judges praised it for bringing the issue of violence against women to the fore.

Our Assistant Editor Clemmie Moodie was highly commended in the Showbiz Reporter category as was Chief Feature Writer Oliver Harvey in the Feature Reporter category.

In the Scoop of the Year category, judges highly commended our “Megxit” revelations that Harry and Meghan were planning to leave the UK.
