Evil baby-obsessed killer who chopped up two ice cream men when they failed to get her pregnant is so dangerous she'll be jailed with men

THE infamous 'ice cream killer' who murdered her husband and then her lover is so dangerous she will serve out her sentence in an all-male prison.

Baby-obsessed murderer and ice cream parlour owner Estibaliz Carranza took the lives of both her former husband and her lover when they failed to get her pregnant.

She killed the two ice cream men, before cutting them into pieces with a chainsaw and hiding them in one of her freezers – using air fresheners to hide the smell – before burying them in plastic tubs.

Carranza killed Holger Holz, her husband, in 2008, then used the same gun two years later to kill her lover, Manfred Hinterberger.

Carranza, a Mexican, told neighbours that the sound of the chainsaw she was using to chop up the bodies was actually a new type of ice cream machine.

Workmen renovating her basement a year after the lover died found body parts from both men inside large ice-cream tubs set in concrete.

Incredibly Carranza discovered she was pregnant by a new lover on the morning she was arrested.

The boy was born in a secure mental institution and now lives with the father.

In a book she wrote about her life she described how she picked up one of her husband's guns and shot him in the back of the head.

"I pointed the gun at his head and pulled it once. Twice. Three times.

"It was just like the scenario I had enacted over and over in my head. Except this time it was real."

Carranza was sentenced to life imprisonment, and is now being moved from her prison in Schwarzau, Austria, to a special centre in Asten near the city of Linz 50 miles away.

The state-of-the-art prison that already contains 91 men – with 13 more female inmates soon set to follow in her footsteps.

Prisoners are allowed free movement within the centre, which boasts single and double rooms and allows inmates to cook their own meals together.

There is also a lounge area with a TV.

Prisoners are also looked after around the clock. For the 91 prisoners already in the building, there are 45 nurses, 18 therapists, four doctors and eight prison guards on duty.

Renowned court psychologist Heidi Kastner testified during Carranza's trial that she was fully accountable for her grisly actions and had a high chance of relapse. She said at the time that therapy would most likely not work for her.

Her lawyers Rudolf Mayer and Werner Tomanek said she has made significant strides forward since being incarcerated.

In a joint statement they said: "It is important that our client can finally be comprehensively treated."

The lawyers are still aiming for Carranza to be eventually transferred to a prison in her native Spain, but such a transfer would only be possible if the 38-year-old is considered cured.

They added that the Mexican-born Spanish national is studying business during her time behind bars.
