Mr Rosindell welcomed Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s decision to appoint Jacob Rees-Mogg as a new Minister for Brexit Opportunities. The Conservative MP told Darren Grime on GB News that Mr Rees-Mogg needed to oversee a “bonfire” of European Union legislation regulations.

Mr Rosindell told GB News: “I tell you what I think we should do.

“We should use the majority we’ve got to sit day and night to repeal bad laws, get a bonfire of legislation regulations.

“I don’t care if we sit all the way through the weekend, all night long.

“We should use the majority we’ve got.”

He added: “Boris needs to get this message.

“We’ve got a huge opportunity to do things we need to be bold as a party and as a Government.

“Brexit gives us magnificent opportunities to do wonderful things for our country. But we’re not using the opportunity the moment anyone can do it I think it’d be Jacob. I’m really pleased he’s got that job.

“But we have a majority. Let’s make something off that.”

Darren Grimes rages that he's 'Bored of Brexit bitterness!'

Last week, LBC political correspondent Matt Thompson pinpointed a key detail in Mr Rees-Mogg’s promotion which spells out the key role the Brexiteer plays in keeping Mr Johnson in Number 10.

Mr Thompson told LBC: “Jacob Rees-Mogg has been moved from his role as leader of the House of Commons to become the new Brexit minister, to give him his full title, Minister of State for Brexit Opportunities and Government Efficiency.

“Now, it’s being touted by some as a demotion for Jacob Ress-Mogg because it’s a sort of Minister of State role.”

He continued: “But I would say perhaps not because if you look at the small print, with his new Brexit Minister role, it’s announced by Downing Street that he will be a member of the cabinet.

Ms Fogarty jumped in: “An attempt to keep the Spartans onside?”

“Possibly also, you know, having true dyed in the wool Brexiteers you know, conducting those Brexiteer discussions,” answered Mr Thompson.

“Obviously, Lord frost departed amid some acrimony not so long ago so that’s a role that has needed filling and you know, who is more dyed in the wool in terms of Brexit than Jacob Rees-Mogg.”
