Jayne Adye, Director of grassroots, cross-Party campaign Get Britain Out, warned that many of the deals which have been struck in the wake of Brexit are “rollover” agreements that do not “reflect the interests and priorities of the UK now and in the future”. She warned the Prime Minister that he “must not let the EU’s failures linger on” when updating past deals, and making new trade deals as this would be a disservice to the British people. Ms Adye said: “Just as our attitude to trends within the global economy must be flexible, the Prime Minister must also make sure he keeps a close eye on the Department for International Trade, and be ready to make a change in the Secretary of State if Anne-Marie Trevelyan does not deliver on promises made. The Prime Minister must make sure this position – which is so important to the future success of the UK on the world stage – is always filled with someone who is fully up to the job. Such an important position cannot be seen as a throwaway to keep allies of the PM satisfied.”

‘Global Britain in action’ Boris celebrates Australian investment

Boris Johnson has celebrated the £28.5billion investment from Australia.

Championing the investment into Brexit Britain, the Prime Minister said in a pre-recorded clip: “I’m very proud to announce that leading Australian businesses are investing a colossal £28.5billion in infrastructure, in green technology and in new sustainable homes here in the UK.

“And that will mean tens of thousands of jobs that will help us to level up across the whole of the country.

“And it will mean new offshore wind projects in Lincolnshire and in northern Scotland. It will mean hydrogen hubs in Southampton and in Orkney.

“And it will mean 2,700 sustainable homes. I’ve never seen a package of investment like it.

“It’s fantastic news for our country and what it means is that we’ll be intensifying our friendship and our partnership with Australia but also driving huge numbers of jobs here at home.

“And it’s a fantastic example of Global Britain in action.”

Nigel Farage rages immediately triggering Article 50 would have thwarted Remainer plot

Nigel Farage has claimed that “immediately” triggering Article 50 would have thwarted a Remainer plot aimed at “stopping Brexit”.

The former UKIP party leader took aim at the Conservative party, saying it made “a complete and utter mess” of Brexit.

Speaking on GB News, he said: “We should have triggered Article 50 immediately after the referendum.

“If we had done that, we would not have given the Remainers and the establishment the time to build their massive campaign.

“That campaign that was to basically stop Brexit from happening.

“If Article 50 had been triggered straight away none of that would have happened.

“But the Tories made a complete and utter mess of it [triggering Article 50]… the official Conservative policy [at the time of the referendum] was that we should remain.

“And of course we finished up with a remain Prime Minister in Theresa May.”
